What To Expect

High-quality veterinary services in Union, KY – delivered with courtesy and respect.
We are proud to also serve areas such as Florence, Burlington, Hebron and Independence.

Welcome to Union Pet Hospital; we are so happy you chose us to help you care for your furry family members! Just to warn you, we are obsessed with pets. We love them all, even those who don’t love us back. We will do whatever it takes to make your experience (and most definitely your pet’s experience) as easy as possible.

Once you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted by our friendly Customer Service Representatives. They will check in your pet and escort you to an exam room. We love to give treats to our patients, so don’t be surprised if our CSRs offer some to your pet (and try to sneak in a few cuddles as well). Also, our lobby always has fresh coffee, so don’t hesitate to help yourself.

A veterinary technician will join you in the exam room to collect an updated medical history (again, there may be more treats). The technician will ask about any current health issues, medications, and concerns you may have about your pet. The doctor will review all this information before they enter the room.

Once the doctor comes in, they will perform a comprehensive, nose-to-tail physical examination. Every body system will be examined, including the ears and the teeth. However, if you have one of those pets that get frightened at the hospital, please tell us. We are happy to accommodate them however we can (and you would be surprised how much a little peanut butter or tuna paste can smooth things over for our anxious dogs and cats).

If you or the doctor have any concerns, the doctor will develop a treatment plan for your pet. We will always recommend what is in your pet’s best interest and be completely transparent about what that plan will entail. We view the doctor-client relationship as a partnership, so please ask questions, as we want you to feel comfortable with our recommendations.

Once the exam is completed, if your pet is healthy, the vaccinations will be given (we try to make these as pain-free as possible and often will attempt to distract our patients with – you guessed it – more treats). The technician will then review medications or preventatives and schedule your next appointment. They will then check you out in the exam room (because no one enjoys trying to pay for services at the front desk while holding a wiggly puppy or squirming cat in their arms at the same time).

Thank you for choosing Union Pet Hospital; we cannot wait to meet you and your furry companions!

We accept all major credit cards and offer financing options through Care Credit and Scratch Pay.

Please note: Our goal is to see all our patients on time, and although we have contingencies for emergencies, there will be times when the unexpected will create delays. Please rest assured that we are doing our best to promptly care for all our patients.
