Emergencies are sudden and stressful, especially when it comes to our beloved pets. We’re here to help with most emergency situations and will do everything we can to support you and your pet during this critical time.
If your pet is experiencing an urgent health issue during our regular business hours, please call us at 859-384-7702 before arriving at the hospital. This allows our team to prepare for your arrival and provide the fastest, most effective care possible.
Reasons to seek Urgent Care
- Difficulty breathing
- Persistent vomiting or diarrhea
- Ingestion of toxic substances
- Trauma or injury
- Seizures
- Unproductive vomiting (especially in dogs)
- Straining to urinate or not producing urine
- Sudden collapse or weakness
- Severe pain or distress
- Swollen abdomen
- Bleeding that doesn’t stop
- Heatstroke signs
- Eye injuries
- Sudden behavioral changes
- Birthing difficulties (dystocia)
Emergency Care After Hours
If your pet needs emergency care outside of our regular business hours, we recommend reaching out to one of the local 24-hour emergency hospitals. Both CareCenter and MedVet Cincinnati offer round-the-clock emergency and critical care. We trust their teams to provide excellent support when we are unavailable.
