Vaccinations

Vaccines play a crucial role in protecting both us and our pets from diseases that are more common in Union, KY, than many realize. Conditions such as rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and others are often found in local wildlife. These pathogens can survive in the environment for a long time, and some, like babies, can even be transmitted to humans. It’s essential to have protective measures in place in case of exposure from the environment or an infected animal. Our veterinarians will develop a customized vaccination plan to ensure your pets are safeguarded against the specific risks they may face.

Immunity Starts with Puppy & Kitten Vaccines

Vaccinations are essential throughout your pet’s life to help them maintain their immunity. During their first year, puppies and kittens will begin a vaccination series that strengthens their immune systems. After completing this series, we will create a personalized vaccination plan for your adult pet, considering their specific needs and lifestyle alongside established best practices. Our veterinarians will collaborate with you to identify which vaccines are necessary for your pet’s health.

Factors we will take into account include:

  • Your pet’s age
  • Whether they travel with you and to what locations
  • Their lifestyle (indoors vs. outdoors, frequent visits to dog parks, etc.)
  • Their current health status

Once we fully understand your pet’s vaccination requirements, we will establish a protocolbased on the vaccinations listed below.
