Dr. Stanley Hastings

Dr. Stanley Hastings

Owner / Veterinarian

Dr. Stanley Hastings graduated from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1979. After practicing for a year in a mixed practice in Bellefountaine, OH, he moved to Arizona and practiced in a small animal group for two years. After moving to Northern Kentucky in 1982, Dr. Hastings purchased an existing clinic from Dr. Bud Waite, renamed it Erlanger Veterinary Hospital, and practiced in the Graves Avenue building until 2003 when the practice moved into the renovated bank building on Dixie Highway. Dr. Hastings has been a member of the Veterinary Orthopedic Society since 1982 and a member of the American Veterinary Dental Society since 1996. He opened the Union Pet Hospital in July 1997, where he practices when he is not at the Erlanger location. Dr. Hastings’ interests include surgery, orthopedics, ophthalmology and dentistry. He also enjoys fishing with his grandchildren and traveling to visit his son in Montana.

Dr. Andrew Pfaehler

Dr. Andrew Pfaehler

Veterinarian

Dr. Andrew Pfaehler is a graduate of the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has spent the first several years out of school working in emergency medicine, but has joined the teams at Erlanger Veterinary Hospital and Union Pet Hospital to pursue his interest in internal medicine, orthopedics, dentistry, and to work with exotic species. Born and raised in the Northern Kentucky area, he returned here to practice with his wife and two children after graduating in 2013. His interests outside of veterinary medicine include brewing, gaming, and cheering on the Auburn Tigers, Kentucky Wildcats and Cincinnati Reds.
Dr. Ashley DeWees

Dr. Ashley DeWees

Veterinarian


Dr. Ashley DeWees graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University and a Doctorate from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She practiced in the Washington, D.C. area before moving to Florida where she practiced for 4 years. Dr. DeWees enjoys splitting her time between the Erlanger Veterinary Hospital and the Union Pet Hospital. Her special interests include animal behavior, ultrasonography, and feline medicine. She is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Dr. DeWees also enjoys running and cooking in her spare time, as well as spending time with her husband Tom, sons Harrison and William, and pets Dalton, Pixel, and Angus.
Dr. Lee Nancarrow

Veterinarian

Dr. Nancarrow received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Kenyon College, and her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Ohio State University. After graduation, she practiced in Chicago for nine years before returning to her home town of Cincinnati. Dr. Nancarrow joined the teams at Erlanger Veterinary Hospital and Union Pet Hospital in 2001. She has a special interest in endocrinology and nutrition. In her spare time, Lee enjoys skiing, kayaking, cooking and spending time with her family and pets, Molly and Tarzan.
Dr. Anna Matchinga

Dr. Anna Matchinga

Veterinarian

Dr. Anna Matchinga graduated from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. She is a Northern Kentucky native, attending Covington Latin School and then Northern Kentucky University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. She began working at Union Pet Hospital in 2014 as a veterinary assistant and now joins our staff as a doctor. She is still figuring out her areas of interest, but she enjoys ultrasonography and surgery. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Lexi.
 Dr. Jessica Henson

Dr. Jessica Henson

Veterinarian


Dr. Jessica N. Henson was born and raised in Erlanger and attended St. Henrythrough high school. She earned her undergraduate degree from Coastal CarolinaUniversity in 2005. She is a 2010 graduate of Auburn University – College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been practicing locally since 2011.

Her veterinary interests include preventative care and internal medicine. Outside of work, she spends her time with her husband, Brian, and to kids Brady and Claire. The Henson family also includes two shelter dogs named Charlie and Brody. Jessica also enjoys traveling and spending time with her extended family.

Holly has been with the Union Pet Hospital since September of 2006. She received her Associates of Applied Science in December of 2005 from Morehead State University Veterinary Technician Program. She has two dogs, Sui and Lil’ Miss, and two cats. In her spare time, she enjoys working on her family’s hobby farm taking care of cattle, horses, and pet ducks.

Lynn started working at the Union Pet Hospital in March of 2008. In May of 2004, she received her Associates of Applied Sciences at Morehead State University Veterinary Technician Program. She continued her education until she finished her Bachelor’s degree in May 2007. She moved to Florence from Louisville to be with her husband, Dustin. She has a son, Gordon, a daughter, Clara, dogs, Fox and bug, a cat, Daisy, and a turtle named Boris.

Rachel has worked at the Union Pet Hospital since May of 2016. First as a veterinary assistant now as a technician. She has the best little baby doggy named Oswald. In her free time you will find her horseback riding, running/hiking, or painting.
Stacey

Stacey has been a vet tech for Dr. Hastings since 2005. In her spare time she enjoys riding motorcycles and horses, and traveling with her husband and adorable dog, Indy.
Susan

Technician

Susan joined the Union Pet Hospital team in 2001 after relocating from New York. She married Lenny in 1995 and has two 2-legged children, Steven and Jenna. She also has 4-legged children: Casper, Loki, Ozzy, and a turtle named Pokey.

Abby has wanted to work with animals since she was a little girl. She has always been interested in helping animals and learning about the different types of pets and how to care for them. Abby wants each client to leave with the feeling that their animal received the best care they could get, and that they are more than comfortable with the service they received. Abby loves to assist in surgeries and loves to see the different breeds of dogs and cats that come in. Abby has three dogs Daisy, Minnie, and Dubslee.

Jennifer started working at Union Pet Hospital in May of 2008. She has two dachshunds named Chase and Riley. She enjoys spending time with her family.

Kara has worked as a receptionist at the Union Pet Hospital since 2002. She has a very mischievous kitty named Willie. When she is not working, she enjoys reading, skiing, and hiking.

Mannie

Mannie decided to pursue a career in working with pets because of his love for all animals. Mannie wants every client to feel like they made the right decision coming to us. He loves to handle all his favorite animals every day and wants to ensure they get the best possible care.

Megan decided to pursue a career working with pets and animals because of her love for animals and wanting to care for them. She received her Bachelor of Applied Science from Morehead State University in 2019. Megan’s pet family at home consists of her dogs, Addie, Willow, Cooper, Olive, and Pennie; and her cats, Lilah and Stella. She loves her herd of animals and enjoys going home to all of her furbabies.

Shelby

Shelby decided to pursue a career working with pets and animals because she was interested in working with racehorses and was a tech on the track working with thoroughbreds for 8 years. She then transitioned to small animals and never looked back. When engaging with clients, her ultimate goal is to fulfill their expectations, make them enjoy their experience enough to come back or refer a friend, give the best care to patients, and ensure their needs are met. What makes Shelby excited to wake up and go to work every day are the cases that can be treated and fixed, doing something good to better the quality of life for sick pets, and spending time with puppies. Her pet family at home consists of a loyal, smart, and social Miniature Schnauzer named Charlotte Rose. She is her baby and is always by her side.

Sherri decided to pursue a career working with pets and animals because she kind of just fell into it but ended up loving her job. When she engages with a client, her ultimate goal is to make them feel welcomed and that their needs are met at a high standard. What makes Sherri excited to wake up and go to work every day is the fact that she truly enjoys what she does, the clients, and the coworkers she gets to work with. Her pet family at home consists of her sweet 2 year old Terrier Mix named Lexi. She is her furbaby and is very spoiled.
Asha

Asha

Asha decided to pursue a career working with pets and animals because she has wanted to work with animals since she was 4 years old and her inspiration for that was Steve Erwin. She ended up learning how to groom and show dogs in competitive conformation and along the way, she grew to love showing her dogs ad much as she loves working here. What makes Asha excited to wake up and go to work every day is the fact that her job never gets boring because every day is different. She also loves helping in surgery and getting to be a part of that experience. Her pet family at home consists of 6 Siberian Huskies, 2 Pomeranians, a Leopard Gecko, and a Torti cat that is the love of her life.

Caitlin decided to pursue a career working with pets and animals because she has wanted to work with animals since she was in Kindergarten. She grew up with animals and always helped take care of them. Caitlin likes to make sure clients are educated on everything their pet needs and they leave knowing they received the best care. What makes Cailtin excited to wake up and go to work every day is the fact that she loves working with cute animals and enjoys being around her work family. Her pet family at home consists of 2 dogs Daphne, a blue heeler mix, and Chili Dog, a german shepherd Lab mix.

Chelsye likes to make clients feel comfortable and confident with their pets here at Union Pet Hospital.  What makes Chelsye excited to wake up and go to work every day is the friendly atmosphere, coworkers, and of course the puppies and kittens. Her pet family at home consists of Jayde her cat and Maxwell her dog.

Haley

Haley decided to pursue a career working with pets because she has a large passion for them. Haley’s ultimate goal is to make clients feel heard and that their concerns are valid and that she does everything to the best of her ability and knowledge for them and their pets. She wants everyone to feel welcome and wants to gain their trust. What makes Haley excited to wake up and go to work every day is that she enjoys making a difference in the office and wants to be there to help whenever needed. Her pet family at home consists of 3 dogs Tank her English bulldog, Maverick her Frenchie, and Cali an Aussie/husky mix.

Rose has always loved animals and has been around them all her life. She wants clients to feel 100% confident that we are providing the best possible care for their pets. She loves her coworkers and the fact that they are all working together with the same goal of helping clients and their pets. Rose has a cat, Andi, and a dog Harley. They are her babies and are very loved by her family.

Morgan

Morgan

Morgan has always thought it would be fun to handle animals and assist in their care. She likes to educate the clients so they can make the best decision for their pets. She enjoys her coworkers and loves cats. She has 3 dogs, 4 cats, and 8 chickens. She loves all her animals but Earl. Earl is her rooster and it chases her quite often.
